A Sustainable Future Begins With Us
At the Seashore Group, we are committed to promoting sustainability through innovative environmental initiatives. Seashore Sustainability was established to develop recycling and waste management activities, encompassing everything from batteries and metals to medical and electronic waste, to recover resources and promote a circular economy. We also strive to foster environmental awareness among youth and students through educational workshops and competitions, such as the Seashore Group Green School Award, which aims to raise awareness of sustainability among students.
Initiatives and Projects
Green Island in the Education City
Green Island, a recycling hub and edutainment platform, was launched by the Seashore Group and Qatar Foundation during Qatar Sustainability Week 2024. Designed to foster eco-friendly lifestyles and provide hands-on learning experiences, Green Island features seven main recycling stations for paper, plastic, glass, metal, batteries, cables, and electronics, including engaging educational exhibits, workshops, and interactive activities.
Sustainability Ambassador Program
The Seashore Group launched the 2024 Sustainability Ambassadors Program, designed to educate students interested in sustainability and recycling, and to cultivate a culture of environmental responsibility within the community.
Target Audience: Students.
Qatar Smiles Program
The program highlights campaigns to clean up Qatar's beaches and desert areas, spread environmental awareness, preserve the environment and help reduce waste.
Target Audience: All segments of society interested in this area.
The Seashore Group Green School Award
The Seashore Group, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has launched the Seashore Group Green School Award, a national competition to honor schools that demonstrate excellence in sustainability by implementing innovative environmental initiatives at school, promoting environmental awareness among students, and encouraging them to take an active role in protecting the environment.
Sustainable Knowledge Program
As sustainability pioneers, we launched the Sustainable Knowledge Program to empower schools with the knowledge and tools to implement effective recycling initiatives within their campuses. This program includes field visits to recycling facilities, interactive workshops, and educational materials.
Climate Makers Program
The Seashore Group and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change have jointly launched Climate Makers Program to recognize sustainability champions, volunteers and entrepreneurs, driving positive environmental impact through innovative solutions.
Seashore Summer Camp
The inaugural Seashore Summer Camp, held at Tariq Bin Ziad School from August 18-22, 2024, engaged children aged 7-13 in a fun-filled exploration of sustainability and recycling. Through interactive workshops and hands-on activities, participants learned about environmental preservation, developed practical skills in reusing materials, and designed creative eco-friendly projects. The camp aimed to inspire the next generation by fostering a deep understanding of their role in building a sustainable future.
